Barcelona Babyyyy

Well, what a trip!I'm still getting over the emotional rollercoaster! Not only did my friends surprise me by coming out to Barcelona for my Birthday, I also got ENGAGED! I'll be doing a blog post about the engagement and pictures of the rock and a little history of me and William, just to give a little insight into my personal life.

Barcelona was full of designer shops from Gucci to Chanel to Dolce and was truly in my element (Window shopping element that is) and to match such a designer city I previously planned my outfits taking into consideration what we were doing, style and a little consideration to comfort; but who needs comfort when you look good!

As a student and the aim of my blog i like to find things cheap whether thats from sales, depop, high street websites and eBay, i will always try find a cheaper version of what I've seen somewhere else. eBay is the BEST place for it and i live on that website, i get hair dye, clothes, shoes, make-up, bikinis, furniture the lot; I LOVE EBAY! My day outfits were mainly all purchased in the sale or eBay and you would never know!

Hand Luggage Essentials

I'm off to Barcelona tomorrow and only taking hand luggage which can make packing a nightmare. Limitations on weight, the amount of liquid, suitcase room all contribute to the dread of packing. I'll be honest i LOVE packing and usually pack about two weeks before i even go away constantly rearranging my case for no reason and adding and taking away stuff on a daily basis. Whenever i go on a city break i'm too tight to pay for a large suitcase so opt for the free choice of hand luggage.

My trick to saving room, weight and grief i plan my day outfits and my evening outfits before i pack. I go to Barcelona for three days so i have three day and night outfits a long with a comfy airport outfit which i use for both ways. I try and limit my shoes (I would take a pair an outfit if i could) and choose a pair of heels that will match every evening outfit, a pair of comfy shoes which in my case are my Pink fluffy sliders from Missy Empire and a pair of day shoes that will go with all my day outfits; which in my case i have gone or my trustworthy Rose gold sandals.

Alongside my clothes i choose accessories that also matches well with all outfits and packed a black belt with a gold buckle, matching my chokers and hoops to the gold on the belt (as i always get told off for mixing silver and gold).

Beauty wise i obviously pack my 100ml bottles of shampoo & conditioner, shower gel, deodorant, hairspray etc... Also I usually take a bottle of hair dye (lilac) mixed with conditioner and use that as a conditioner which i leave in for around 10 mins both conditioning my hair as well as dying it. As i have lilac coloured hair the sun bleaches the colour out pretty much as soon as I'm in the sun so i like to take some hair dye just to top it up. Another thing i have taken, which i don't usually pack is fake tan which i have poured in a 100ml bottle as because we are on a city break, sun bathing isn't on the top of our list and i don't want to look like a milk bottle the whole time I'm away.

Ive attached some pictures to show you some of my outfits and essentials however i will be blogging my day and night outfits when I'm back xo.

DIY HIGHLIGHTER

One of my favourite mottos is that "you can never have too much highlighter" and with make up brands going crazy for liquid highlighter right now, so i decided to make my own. Its so so so easy to make and with only a few ingredients, you'll be wishing that you had made them from day 1.

All you need is:

- Grapeseed Oil (Or any oil based liquid)
- Shimmer powder (I used a powder called "Mica")
- A plastic bag
- Bottle with a pipette

I got all these things from Ebay and probably cost around £2 each to make (per bottle)

All you do is mix your selected powders together i used a purple shimmer and a pearly shimmer which created a lilac highlighter as its end result.

Mix the oil in with the powder in the plastic bag, making sure everything is mixed as much as possible.

Get your bottle ready and snip the corner of the bag (Almost like you would to ice a cake with buttercream) and transfer the liquid into the bottle.

Screw the lid on, give it a shake and your good to go!

I love making my own as i can produce my own colours that i can't find in the shop. The oil consistency means it sticks to my face literally all day and you only need to apply a little bit emending on the strength of colour.

Festival Inspo

I am part of that small, tiny percentage of people that will not be attending a festival this year and I'm gutted about it, i deffo will be looking at going to one next year so any suggestions will be appreciated. I have been to both Reading and Leeds and loved it but deffo want to go to a different one next year.

Even though i won't be attending a festival i still find myself looking at festival outfits so here are a few of my favourite items from Pretty Little Thing for festival attire. I'm also thinking about doing a glitter tutorial so keep ya eyes peeled on my Youtube Channel -  Jade ashford-King ..xo

Aesthetically Pleasing

After recently starting my own business in Photography i feel as if my life has begun to take shape and become a lot more organised. Since still living with my Mum my room is my personal space in which i can portray my personality and style. As I'm doing a lot of editing on my laptop and your standard 'office' work i decided it was time to invest in an office space and what better way to kickstart it than getting a desk. As a shopaholic and a student i never have money so i needed to doing my office area on a budget.

I'm that person that buys pretty things purely to sit there and look pretty and there is nothing more satisfying than putting together a bundle of aesthetically pleasing items. My favourite place for home items on the cheaper side has to be Primark, they have a rose gold/copper theme on atm and i love it. I tried to go rustic meets modern filling my des with unnecessary items purely for there prettiness. Candles and flowers are my go to, to help make any situation pretty and combining my copper/rose gold theme with flowers and candles i believed I've achieved a pretty place to work.

My office area cost just under £100 including the desk, mirror and stool so its deffo do-able to achieve a sassy office space with an even sassier price.

*I'll list below all the details and prices.*

"On Wednesday we wear P I N K"

I'm deffo that crazy person that packs a week in advance to a holiday, plans an airport outfit (favourite part) and tries to determine a theme to my holiday clothes. I seem to have found myself loving pink, all shades and this has defiantly portrayed in my shoe collection for holiday.

I've had my eye on a pair of mules for ages from Primark and as soon as payday arrived there was no hesitation in putting them in my basket and purchasing them. The colour is perfect, i love the satin material and the height is perfect for those summer nights walking, dancing or even sipping just cocktails.
